Episode 9 - What happens when your identity collapses—but grace steps in?
Pastor & former NFL player Derwin Gray shares how Jesus transformed his life, healed deep wounds, and redefined identity beyond performance and pain.
There's much to see here. So, take your time, and look around.
Renewed & Transformed exists to make Christ known all around the World. Where we explore the intersection of sexuality, identity, gender, and faith through the unchanging Truth of Scripture. Together we will discover how Jesus can make all things new.
If you’re wondering if God is still working in this world through his Word, his Son, and his Church to transform lives, heal wounds, clarify confusion, and change futures, look no further than Kyla Gillespie. Kyla is a Canadian-born biological female who realized at a young age that she was drastically different from other girls. The teen years proved particularly difficult as she navigated a broken family, a passion for hockey, taking her first drink, and a struggle with gender dysphoria and same-sex attraction―all while wondering what it might mean to follow Christ. Ultimately, her confusion through gender and sexuality led her to surgically transition from female to male by the age of 31. During the years she changed her name to Brycen, Kyla found herself in even more confusion as she relentlessly grappled with questions many others ask:
In this gripping memoir, Kyla shares her own lived experience of encountering the Scriptures and the Church in ways that made all the difference as she wrestled with these questions. By the power of Jesus working though his Word and His people who sacrificially walked beside her through the twists and turns of the journey, Kyla now testifies that she’s been TransFormed―not only in her transition from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light, but also in the transition back into her God-given gender.
Now an international speaker and founder of Renewed & Transformed ministries, Kyla’s highest hope is that God might use her story to reveal He is big enough, good enough, and smart enough to guide any struggler―and that life in Christ is worth every moment of the struggle. “May others who find themselves in my shoes earnestly consider Christ who is worth it no matter the cost,” she declares, “and may the Church be there to love and disciple them like it did me. If anyone wonders if transformation and freedom is possible, here is my account of God’s redemptive and glorious work through his Word and his people.”
Find healing, clairity and hope. Join us for gospel-centered conversations on sex, identity and discipleship in a polarized culture.
Many people today-inside and outside of the church context— are weighed down with brokenness and regrets from sexual choices, identity confusion and unwanted encounters. They need to know about the new way of life available through Jesus Christ. And there are countless others who are searching for answers of how to follow Jesus with compassion and conviction, in a sex-saturated, polarized culture.
For this reason, it is our absolute joy to announce that we will be hosting The Called Conference on April 10-11, 2026, as a gathering place for spiritual formation and sexual discipleship.
It will be a space for gospel-centred conversations about sex, identity & relationships, and an invitation to be transformed in the presence of God.
We are also excited to share that this event will be hosted in partnership with The Union Movement, Bryan and Bonnie Pue who also lives in our region.
Registration will be open on January 1!
We will share more information about schedules, registration and other guest speakers in the coming weeks. We can't wait to introduce them to you!

Kyla is the founder of Renewed & Transformed Ministries.

"Kyla is the real deal. She has an amazing testimony of God's grace and power and is passionate about sharing biblical truth on subjects where much of the Church is either confused or compromised. She is intimately involved in the life of her local church family and it's my joy to know her as a sister in Christ first, and a public speak

She is intimately involved in the life of her local church family and it's my joy to know her as a sister in Christ first, and a public speaker second. If your group is looking to open or expand a godly conversation on LGBTQ+ issues, I cannot recommend Kyla highly enough."
